Dear Parents,
Permission slips for our field trip are in Friday Folders today. They need to be returned as soon as possible.   All the third and fourth grades will be going on a field trip Friday, June 1, 2012.  We will load the buses right at 9:15 in hopes of leaving at 9:30.  Please have your child here on time that day.  We will be going to Minto-Brown Island Park here in Salem.
We still need volunteers.  Please check the chaperon box on the permission slip if you are able to go with us. The classes will be moving through stations together. The teachers will be rotating through the stations with their classes, so we will need parents to run and help out with the stations.  It should be a fun and busy day.  We will load the bus to come back to school at 1:30. On that same day at 2:30 we will have an assembly to celebrating  Lee's 10 year anniversary.  Doc Titus Dance Party will follow from 3:30-5:00.

Thank you to all our volunteers

We appreciate you!
Parent,
There is still time for students to make-up missing homework assignment.  I sent a slip home a few weeks ago for all students who had missing homework.  The slip had the number of missing assignments and the subjects they were missing in.  If you have questions about homework please call, send an email or have your child ask me about their missing homework.

Have a Fantastic Mother's Day

The sun is shining just for Mom!

Moms, your children are bringing home Mother's Day gifts today so be watching for those.
We are winding down with our testing.  We have finished the district writing assessment.  Some students are still working hard to finish up their state tests in reading and math.  The deadline for the state test is May 17th so we have one last big PUSH to finish those up by the deadline.  Please help your child get plenty of rest, have a good breakfast and arrive on time so they are ready for the day.  Testing can be stressful for students.   Between now and the end of the year I will be conducting individual reading tests to assess student reading levels.
Ms. Naas, a student teacher from WOU started her full-time teaching responsibilities this week in our classroom and will be teaching for the next two weeks while I work with students on testing and in small groups.  She has been doing an excellent job and has some fun and challenging science lessons planned for the class.
